Magicbricks created uniquely crafted sleeping bags by recycling flex from old hoardings
New Delhi, May 25, 2017 Magicbricks, India’s No.1 property portal, has been recently awarded the Foxglove Award 2017 (Ambient Media – Traditional Billboards) for its unique employee engagement initiative – Magic Bags – that saw the company recycling flex from old hoardings to make specially designed sleeping bags for the homeless during the harsh North Indian winter in Delhi NCR.
Around 5000 Magic Bags were distributed at various locations in Delhi, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad during the drive which was carried out by the employees of Magicbricksin partnership with Uday Foundation and execution partner Tribes Communications. It was a unique employee engagement program to mark the 10th anniversary of Magicbricks. Having completed a decade of providing the best value to people for their home buying needs, the celebrations were extended by spreading warmth among the homeless during this winter.
Prasun Kumar, Marketing-Head, Magicbricks, said “It is overwhelming to win an award for contributing towards a social cause. The Foxglove Awards gives us immense satisfaction as it validates our strong focus on making a contribution towards the society. Our Magic Bags campaign was a unique employee driven program to bring cheer to the homeless during this winter. We were extremely happy to partner with Uday Foundation and Tribes Communication to mobilise relief for the homeless. We feel extremely humbled to see that our initiative has been acknowledged by industry peers.”
The flex utilized for the outdoor campaigns were brought into a recycling unit and lined up with warm blankets and foam sheets. What once was an outdoor campaign was now converted into a weatherproof sleeping bag. For those who could not even afford a blanket to stay warm, what Magicbricks created was pure magic.
Foxglove Awards was established in 2015 with the primary objective of spotting and rewarding original creative work in marketing communication from young agencies. Other than agencies it is also open for any entities – design & production houses – which are less than 12 years old. Over 120 agencies participated in the Foxglove Awards in the first two years making it already one of the largest advertising awards in the country.
