New Delhi, September 30, 2026: PVR INOX, India’s largest and most premium multiplex chain, through its distribution arm PVR INOX Pictures, is bringing Doraemon to the Indian big screen for the first time with Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and theCastle of the Undersea Devil. Releasing across cinemas on October 2, 2026, the film will be presented in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with select screenings in 4DX.
A favourite across generations, Doraemon now makes his theatrical debut in India with an adventure that takes him, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo far below the ocean. What begins as an underwater camping trip soon leads the friends to a sunken ship, a mysterious young Sea Dweller named El and the hidden undersea civilisation of the Mu Federation.
The adventure takes an unexpected turn when the Castle of the Undersea Devil awakens. As the group enters this mysterious underwater world, they must earn the trust of the Sea Dwellers, uncover the secrets of the castle and face a danger that could threaten the fate of the Earth. With Doraemon’s secret gadgets, Nobita’s courage and the group’s unshakeable friendship, the journey becomes much bigger than they imagined.
Directed by Tetsuo Yajima, the film is the 45th theatrical feature in the Doraemon franchise. It combines humour, fantasy, friendship and high-stakes adventure, while introducing audiences to a vast underwater world filled with fascinating creatures, hidden secrets and spectacular discoveries. Select 4DX screenings will add movement and sensory effects to the experience, bringing audiences closer to the action.
