‘OurAir’ indoor air quality solutions attains accreditation from RESET

New Delhi, September 13, 2018: Germany based MANN+HUMMEL Group, a leading global filtration specialist with revenues of 4 Billion Euro and 20,000 employees at 80 locations worldwide, has announced the launch of its OurAir brand in the Indian market. OurAir offers end-to-end indoor air quality solutions that combine MANN+HUMMEL’s 77 years of filtration expertise with cutting-edge digital innovation. These solutions are based on smart devices, where air quality monitors, filters, purification and ventilation systems, integrate seamlessly with the OurAir digital platform. With OurAir solutions, building owners, facility managers and tenants can “KNOW, IMPROVE and MANAGE” the air quality in commercial buildings.

The launch in India also coincided with the official announcement of the accreditation of both the OurAir air quality monitors and digital platform by RESET, the world’s first sensor-based and performance-driven building standard and certification program. The RESET Standard is created with the aim of improving indoor environments and occupant health on a global scale

OurAir is the first company to successfully achieve RESET accreditation for both its cloud software (OurAir Digital Platform), and air quality monitors (OurAir SPS208, SPB308, and SPB358), making it the largest complete end-to-end solution provider in the world.

“Access to clean air is vital for human health and well-being. Unfortunately air pollution in India continues to pose a serious challenge. Based on a WHO ranking of particulate pollution in cities in 2018, 14 of the 20 cities with the highest levels are located in our country.” said Pradeep Randhawa, Managing Director, MANN+HUMMEL India. “We are paying a high price for this, where 30% of all premature deaths today are due to air pollution. As a company MANN+HUMMEL wants to contribute. While it is challenging to eliminate outdoor air pollution, there are effective solutions to ensure good air quality indoors, where we spend up to 90% of our time.”

“The launch of OurAir in India is timely. There is an increase in public awareness, growing demand for pollution-free offices and homes, and new government regulations and building standards supporting the adoption of clean air solutions. We expect the market to grow rapidly over the next few years” added Pradeep Randhawa.

“German engineering companies have a reputation for being focused on quality, down to the finest detail. I would like to think that MANN+HUMMEL and OurAir live up to this reputation.” says Jason Tang, Vice President of Intelligent Air Solutions, MANN+HUMMEL. “There are many factors that affect indoor air quality in buildings and offices. MANN+HUMMEL provides solutions for real-time air quality monitoring, and digital platforms to analyze, predict and manage the optimization end-to-end. This is anchored by our deep expertise in filtration to achieve healthy air quality more effectively and efficiently. We help our customers make smarter choices to enjoy better air.”

“RESET is the only building standard in the world to focus on the foundational details of what makes building systems work. There is a great emphasis on the quality of source data and hardware, through to actual performance metrics, which are measured each and every day. As a brand, OurAir’s vision and values are very much aligned with RESET’s mission” added Jason Tang.

“We are highly impressed with OurAir’s approach, which goes beyond our focus on data quality and health thresholds, into asset management tools, that ensure the long-term health performance of buildings and their interiors.” says Raefer Wallis, Founder of RESET. “Developing a healthy building is one thing. Operating one is quite another challenge. Most projects fail during operations and we’re seeing a marked shift in tenant expectations. They are now saying, ‘I don’t really care how the building was designed, I just want to know if it actually works.’ OurAir addresses that.”

To mark the OurAir launch in India, MANN+HUMMEL sponsored the inaugural Air Quality Expert Series in Bangalore. Bringing together thought leaders and representatives from government, industry and trade associations, this event explored trends driving the shift in focus from green to healthy buildings, and how the adoption of new air quality solutions, and building standards such as RESET, are helping to support this shift.
